Another outing with the PAPI crew, this time to Eagle Island State Park. This park is much larger than one might think if you're willing to step outside of the part that looks like a safe suburban park setting. This large agricultural area was once a place for incarcerated individuals working on a farm of sorts. It has been a while since I painted buildings/structures, this was a rather big challenge for me. I tried using the frisket/masking fluid but I really did not get what I was wanting out of it. The fence posts and the shadows were hard to capture, but fun nonetheless. Using my Sakura Koi watercolors, I found that this travel kit can be hard to use with larger paper and with my aquabrushes being geared for smaller paintings. Best part? Got outside to paint with some wonderful folks.
