Land of Butter & Honey. July 20, 2022

It's been about a week since we arrived in Wisconsin. So far, in the short period of time of being here I am absolutely floored by it's beauty. This place is so green. Incredibly alive. Bugs, birds, critters, plants, people, everything is so alive. The food tastes better. My skin isn't dray and crackling off my face at all times. The moisture here is profoundly different than the high desert of Idaho.

I have been soaking up the local library's offerings and getting inspired to get back to being who I used to be before I had to be the responsible bread-winner. Our apartment is brand new, there are some quirky things but we are getting used to it all.

Today, I took the bus around town and explored some of the attractions. I landed at a lovely park by the university and decided to start small. Here is a late blooming group of lily. It's perfect as it feels like what my hubby has embodied for most of his life. He is so incredibly special in his ability to both be intelligent and empathetic--but when he gets focused sometimes he really does achieve levels of beauty that can't be compared to others.

He is a late bloomer. An underdog. A diamond in the rough. It's incredible hope far he has come. Time and time again, he swoops in to save me from myself.
