Had been wanting to visit Quinn's Pond area in Boise lately, but finally caught the right time. A gorgeous sunset began and I was able to whip out something I was pretty happy with. I am frequently challenged by painting water, and I actually used some real watercolor paper this time! The Strathmore series 300 paper definitely is preferable for scenes like this, as opposed to the Mixed Media Paper. Again, using the Sakura Koi watercolors and aqua brushes. It was warm, but started to get cool as the sun began to sink.
A young man and his kids approached me on their walk in the park. He asked me if I could do a logo for him. He told me that he was from Africa and had a store off of Fairview and he needed help with the sign. A wonderful opportunity to work on some logo stuff (I have been rusty this year with it) and to help out a local business. So, over the next few days I developed a logo and made it to be a huge banner to cover the wooden sign area above his shop. Basically, I had a great time painting and I love meeting people randomly when painting. I have had some truly incredible and magical chance encounters with people over the years thanks to doing art. This was just another of those great moments!
