When looking for open calls I realized there is a lot available, but not always easy to find in one place. Here are some of the open calls that I found in the local area to share with y'all! Most of them are good at the end of August through September of 2024, but check them out to be sure. If this becomes popular enough, I will start adding more details. In the meantime, we're going to start simple.
These are not listed in any particular order, but good luck and here's hoping for some success for someone out there!

Certainly there is more out there, but for now this is a good start for anyone looking.
When I started illustrating and publishing comic books 10+ ago, there was very little in terms of resources and mentorship available. There were a few folks who had been doing things in the area, but we didn't know how to access it. My business partner and I decided to create our own resources and mentorship opportunities in the Treasure Valley area instead. We brought folks together to help foster a positive learning-centered community of artists and writers for sequential storytelling. Many folks offered their expertise, time, energy, and skills free of charge to the community. It was beautiful and I am forever grateful. I don't know if that had any lasting impact on those individuals. I would like to believe so as I'm thrilled to see that many of those folks have continued to hone their craft, sell their work, and collaborate! I'll be honest, it's still a really painful for me to explore this part of my life. I want to be better for my mistakes and take those lessons and apply them to my life and creative community now.
