On the road! After a month of pure craziness and preparations for the big move, we are off to the land of Wisconsin. By we, I mean it's my hubby, our roommate of several years, and I. We are making the trek across six states with two cats in the U-Haul. We shed the vast majority of our material lives giving almost everything away.
I stopped to make this post not because I did any painting this time. Instead I wanted to bring to light some important graffiti art that I found was largely removed. But it really means a lot that I found it how I did.
It was inside of a women's room stall at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Monument in Wyoming. As I sat to pee, I saw the back of the stall door as it shows here:
I can only decipher some of the message.
"I was raped by my dad...
text to 20733...."
"No more Stolen Sisters."
My hubby's family is indigenous and I was so saddened to find this graffiti--except the part where I hope it reaches someone who maybe is intrigued by it's haunting presentation and message.
