Tasteless Sundown. Dec, 4, 2020

Over the last month or so I've been out of commission, I caught the Covid-19 virus. Things have been pretty miserable for me, as I can't taste or smell anything since the second week of November. My life has been a little bland without food to enrich it. If you've never experienced this kind of thing, you may never really know just how much better life is with flavor and smells. For example, Thanksgiving was simply temperature and texture in my mouth, and I can tell you they are not very interesting. So, I've been feeling pretty down and decided to go paint to try and lift my spirits. Its been rather cold, but not too cold yet.

I found a scenic byway by Melba and Marsing, south of the Boise area. This particular pull-out I found is called Lava Point. Sundown right now is happening about 4pm, which helped make for a very lovely scene. I decided to go back to the Mixed Media Strathmore paper this time, and as always with my Sakura Koi watercolors and aqua brushes. My hands were so cold, but I had a decent pair of gloves and a down jacket for this scene. I still can't do a lot of physical activity without getting really fatigued and super brain-foggy effects. Headaches are a constant thing now too, so I parked and sat outside the car, only about 25 paces away. It was nice to get out, though.
